Merge People is an important feature to be used in Movidesk that facilitates the organization of people's records. As the email import and chat support features create a new person for each email provided by the user, it's common for people to have duplicate records for different emails if they use more than one address to generate requests.

But attention, when performing actions to merge people and there are tickets where the requester is associated with a person who will be merged, we emphasize that to avoid losing the history, the system only disables the requester and does not replace the requesting person with the new merged person in tickets with a status of closed, canceled, or resolved.

Therefore, in cases where there is already a person with open tickets and for some reason new records for the same person have been created, it is recommended that the merge order be from the oldest record to the new ones.

Using the merge people feature, these records are unified according to the selections you make, and the existing tickets in these two records are also condensed into a single customer.

To be able to merge people, your access profile must have permission to register people.

When accessing the people registry in the system through Settings > People and opening the same person's record, this option will appear. Note that the record of the selected person will be deleted and added to the destination person's data.

• Contacts: Check this option so that the contacts in your record are added to the merged person.
• Emails: Check this option so that the emails in the record are added to the destination record.
• Addresses: Check this option if you want to add the person's address to the destination record.
• Organizations: Check this option if you want to add the person's organization to the destination record.

The merge people functionality is irreversible. Therefore, be very careful not to perform the operation on incorrect records.
